Muslims jailed for printing cartoons

Like most everyone I've been following the story through the news/web/on-line dialog/invective stream for a while now. I thought this story in the 22 February NY Times was kind of interesting, if only to highlight that there are voices of reasoned dissent in Arab countries that are not often heard. Some of it is indeed old news (I'm too new at this to wade into the blog versus mainstream press argument) but who cares. The link is below (assuming you have access to NYT on-line--sorry if you don't).

Furor Over Cartoons Pits Muslim Against Muslim
By MICHAEL SLACKMAN and HASSAN M. FATTAH

NY Times, 22 February 2006

"What brings more prejudice against Islam, these caricatures or pictures of a hostage-taker slashing the throat of his victim in front of the cameras, or a suicide bomber who blows himself up during a wedding ceremony?" --Jihad Momani
